Version 1.2.0 (71)
October 20, 2026
- The Format menu has three more formats: HSBS-3D Half Side-by-Side for 3D TVs and projectors, HTAB-3D Half Top-and-Bottom for passive 3D TVs, and FTAB-3D Top-and-Bottom for top-and-bottom VR players. The output names carry the Jellyfin tags 3D.HSBS, 3D.HTAB, and 3D.FTAB.
- With a top-and-bottom format, the Swap left/right eyes checkbox reads Swap top/bottom eyes and puts the right eye on top.
-
Version 1.1.5 (66)
October 16, 2026
- The Help menu has a MakeSBS3D Manual item, which opens the manual in the app's language.
- The Sources list shows five entries before it scrolls.
-
Version 1.1.4 (64)
October 16, 2026
- The app's menu items follow a language change at once. The Mac's own menus update at the next launch, and a Relaunch button under Settings → General → Language restarts the app for that.
- Translations that followed English word order are reworded, in all five languages.
-
Version 1.1.3 (62)
October 16, 2026
- A movie folder laid out for Jellyfin or Plex, Title (Year) with the server's id tags, names the output after itself, so the year and ids carry into the converted file. The same happens when such a folder is chosen as the output folder.
- A year in a file's name stays in the suggested output name. Until now Avatar (2009).mkv was suggested as Avatar - 3D.FSBS.mp4.
- OK on the Conversion Finished alert takes a disc, disc image or Blu-ray folder out of the list once all its listed titles are converted, the way Eject does.
- The output folder of a disc image or Blu-ray folder shows without a trailing slash.
- Update notes appear in the app's language.
-
Version 1.1.2 (56)
October 14, 2026
- Opening a disc image or Blu-ray folder now sets the output folder to the folder that holds it, the same as a movie file. A default output folder set in Settings still comes first.
-
Version 1.1.1 (54)
October 13, 2026
- Keep original audio now works for movies with Dolby TrueHD or LPCM tracks. TrueHD goes into the Side-by-Side MP4 as is and becomes lossless 24-bit PCM in Spatial Video, where the MOV format cannot hold it. Until now these conversions stopped before the first frame.
-
Version 1.1.0 (52)
October 12, 2026
- Converts straight from a 3D Blu-ray. With MakeMKV installed, a Disc button in the toolbar lists the 3D titles on the inserted disc. MakeMKV extracts the one you pick, MakeSBS3D converts it and ejects the disc when it is done. Disc images and BDMV folders open the same way, by drop or through Open.
- Disc titles take their name and cover art from the disc. Several 3D titles on one disc are told apart by their number and length.
- Settings → Defaults → Disc keeps the MKV MakeMKV extracted, beside the converted movie.
- The interface is available in German, Spanish, French, Italian and Swedish. It follows the Mac's language, or the choice under Settings → General → Interface.
- Settings has two tabs, General and Defaults, and follows the system appearance.
- Settings from earlier versions carry over.
-
Version 1.0.1 (35)
October 8, 2026
- The Help menu has two items, MakeSBS3D Website and MakeSBS3D Usage Tutorial, which open makesbs3d.com and the how-to post.
- Activating a license key shows a thank-you note with confetti.
-
Version 1.0 (26)
October 8, 2026
First release outside the App Store.
- Download and updates come from makesbs3d.com. New versions install from inside the app, and MakeSBS3D → Check for Updates… looks for one at any time.
- The free trial converts the first 5 minutes of each movie. A license key from Gumroad unlocks full-length conversion, entered under MakeSBS3D → License….
- The progress percentage is shown in a rounded, heavier font.
